Alessandro (Alex) Amicarelli JD MA MBA PhD, a member and director of Obaseki & Co Ltd - London based Law Firm - is a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales, and a barrister of Italy, specialising in International and Human Rights Law and Immigration and Refugee Law, dealing also with investments and sustainable development and international cooperation too.

Having earned a doctorate on "International Order and Human Rights" from "La Sapienza" University of Rome, with a dissertation on the protection of religious freedom in International law, Dr. Amicarelli has a strong interest for minorities and religious freedom of both New Religious Movements and traditional minority religious and spiritual groups and of their members.

He has dedicated the last twenty years to issues related to the protection of freedom of religion and belief (FORB), the rights of refugees and displaced persons, and other human rights and immigration matters, representing clients internationally.

Atty. Amicarelli is also an expert in US State-Religion Law and parliamentary procedure, and a legal officiant in the United States.

He has extensively lectured in human rights, and taught courses on the International Protection of Human Rights at the School of Law of "Carlo Bo", University of Urbino, Italy; he has contributed with articles published in legal reviews and in books, and has also taught a course on Human Rights, Minorities and Religious Freedom at Soochow University, Taiwan (ROC).

Atty. Amicarelli is a frequent speaker at academic and legal events and conferences and meetings held in different countries and at different places which have included also the Chamber of Deputies in Rome, the House of Lords in London, the United Nations Palace in Geneva, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Warsaw, the Senate of the United States of America in Washington DC and other locations too.

As a specialist in Middle East and North African Studies and business consultant he is regularly consulted by corporations and companies willing to ethically invest and partner in North Africa and in the Middle East countries.

As a philanthropist he is the current chairman and spokesman of the European Federation for Freedom of Belief (FOB), a trustee of the All Faiths Network UK, and the founder and chairman in the US of the Embassy of Love International, and a member of the Board of other Humanitarian Organisations too.

L'avv. Amicarelli ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca in "Ordine Internazionale e Diritti Umani" presso "La Sapienza", Università di Roma, discutendo una tesi circa la protezione della libertà religiosa nel diritto internazionale e ha un forte interesse per tematiche quali le minoranze e la libertà religiosa dei nuovi movimenti religiosi e dei gruppi religiosi e spirituali tradizionali e dei loro membri.

Egli ha dedicato gli ultimi 20 anni alle problematiche connesse alla protezione della libertà di religione e di credo (FORB - Freedom of Religion and Belief), i diritti di rifugiati e sfollati, e altre questioni attinenti i diritti umani e l'immigrazione, rappresentando clienti a livello internazionale.

L'avv. Amicarelli è anche esperto in diritto americano dei rapporti tra Stato e Confessioni Religiose e procedura parlamentare, nonché officiante di matrimoni legalmente vincolanti negli Stati Uniti d'America.

Ha estensivamente insegnato diritti umani, ha tenuto corsi sulla Tutela Internazionale dei Diritti Umani presso la Facoltà di Giurisprudenza dell'Università "Carlo Bo" di Urbino, ha pubblicato articoli su riviste legali e testi, e ha anche tenuto un corso su "Diritti Umani, Minoranze e Libertà Religiosa" presso l'Università "Soochow" con sede in Taiwan (Repubblica di Cina).

L'avv. Amicarelli partecipa frequentemente come relatore presso eventi legali ed accademici, conferenze ed incontri in diversi paesi e diverse sedi tra le quali la Camera dei Deputati a Roma, la House of Lords a Londra, il Palazzo delle Nazioni Unite a Ginevra, l'Organizzazione per la Sicurezza e la Cooperazione in Europa (OSCE) a Varsavia, il Senato degli Stati Uniti d'America a Washington DC e numerose altre.
